INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE MISSION STATEMENT...
The International Junior Hockey League was established in 2006 as an alternative Junior Super Elite, Elite, and Selects hockey league dedicated to the ideals of development and advancement of its players. The IJHL also has added a 10 team Associate Division with top teams from Canada as well as prep schools. The IJHL is committed to providing its members the opportunity to enhance each player academically, socially and athletically. The league encourages its member programs to test players academically while they pursue their athletic goals. The IJHL promotes the vision of a Student Athlete that prepares our players for life beyond the game of hockey. The IJHL is first and foremost a College Development league and in just two seasons, IJHL alumni have advanced their careers to college institutions at the Division 1, 2, and 3 levels. The IJHL prides itself in providing D1, D2, and D3 College coaches, as well as Major Junior scouts, the opportunity to attend our multiple Showcases maximizing the exposure of our players during competition. This format provides coaches and scouts the ability to watch all players perform in a central location. With well over 100 Colleges and Universities throughout the Northeast, Midwest, and Canada we can ensure that the IJHL player has sufficient opportunity to demonstrate their skills and game play. Playing a strict non-fight format and constantly monitoring games further enhances development as well as increasing the pace of the game. In addition, the Super Elite level incorporates a two referee/one linesman format for even greater control.
Now for the 2008-2009 season we have become the only known self-contained league to span from Mites to Junior Super Elite as we have introduced the International Junior Youth Hockey League (IJYHL). The IJYHL is comprised of a division of 40 Tier 1 AAA youth teams and now after only two seasons, sport a comprehensive 72 team league. |
